    What is Ring Protect?

    Ring Protect is a comprehensive subscription service that unlocks photo capture, video recording, saving, sharing and more for Video Doorbells and Security Cameras. For Alarm owners a Protect Plus subscription activates Assisted Monitoring and Cellular Back Up, plus a few extra perks. A Ring Protect subscription allows you to link all of your Ring devices and set them to all start recording the moment one of your devices detects motion. There are two tiers of Ring Protect: Basic and Plus.

    Do I need a Ring Protect subscription to use Ring Devices and their features?

    No. You can use features including HD Live View, Two-Way Talk and Motion Alerts without a Ring Protect subscription.

    Which features are included with a Ring Protect subscription?

    A Ring Protect subscription unlocks Video Recording, Saving and Sharing for Video Doorbells and Security Cameras, plus features like Person Alerts and Package Alerts. If you have multiple Ring devices, a Protect Plus subscription allows you to link all your Ring devices together and unlocks Assisted Monitoring and Cellular Backup for your Ring Alarm. HD Live View, Two-Way Talk and Motion Alerts are all available out-of-the-box, without a Ring Protect subscription.

    What’s the difference between Ring Protect Basic and Ring Protect Plus?

    Ring Protect Basic covers one Ring Video Doorbell or Security Camera for only 3.99 €/month or 39.99 €/year. It records all the videos captured by your Ring device and saves them to your account. You can then review all your videos at your convenience, download to save them for later and share them with friends, family and neighbours.

    Ring Protect Plus covers all Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras at a single location for only 10 €/month or 100 €/year. It records all the videos captured by your Ring Video Doorbell and/or Security Camera and saves them to your account. Plus with new advanced video features and notifications, you'll be getting the ultimate Ring Experience.

    You can then review your videos at your convenience, download those you want to save them for later or, if you so choose, share them with your friends, family and neighbours. If you have a Ring Alarm, with Protect Plus you can opt in to Assisted Monitoring, receive automated calls when your Ring Alarm detects a security issue. You’ll also get extended warranties for every eligible device for as long as your Protect Plus plan is in place.

    What are the new features available in Ring Protect Plus?

    Live View Picture-in-Picture: allows you to watch a live view from your Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras in a small pop-out window. Once activated, you can leave the Ring app and continue watching Live View in a Picture-in-Picture window, freeing you up to use other apps at the same time.

    Snapshot Capture+ : allows you to set more frequent snapshot recordings between events and gives you the ability to opt for a longer snapshot storage time.

    Multi-Cam Live View: allows Ring Protect Plus subscribers to simultaneously monitor live video streams from multiple Ring devices, at a single location when logged into account.ring.com. This feature is available for all Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras.

    Event Summary: is a section in the History tab in the Ring app that allows you to view all events from your Video Doorbells and Security Cameras from the last 24 hours.

    What is the difference between Package Alerts & Persons Alerts?

    The Persons Alerts feature only sends an alert when it detects a person, so you won't keep getting notified each time your pet passes by. Available with Ring Video Doorbells, the Package Alerts feature sends you an alert when a package is detected in the designated area on your doorstep.

    How do I link my Ring devices?

    Your Ring devices can all be linked in the Ring app, where you can customise the settings and set them all to start recording the moment motion is detected. So if your Video Doorbell detects motion at your doorstep or your Alarm senses an open window, your Spotlight Cam, Floodlight Cam or Indoor Cam will automatically start recording too.

    Can I share my videos and photos with others?

    If you have a subscription to Ring Protect, you can choose share your videos and photos with anyone, including neighbours, friends, family and local police. Every Video Doorbell, Security Camera and Alarm Pack comes with a free 30-day trial of Ring Protect. You can choose to subscribe to Ring Protect at any time to save, review and share all videos and photos captured by your Video Doorbell or Security Cameras and you won’t be charged until the end of your free trial.

    Can I try Ring Protect before I subscribe?

    Yes. A free 30-day trial begins as soon as you set up your Ring Video Doorbell or Security Camera.

    How do I subscribe to Ring Protect?

    First, you’ll need to sign into your Ring account on Ring.com. Then select “My Plans” from the dropdown menu at the top right. Next, choose the device you want to cover and follow the steps to add more devices. Then, select your preferred plan and add payment info needed to complete your purchase.     What happens if I add a new Ring device?

    If you’re subscribed to Ring Protect Plus, all Ring devices registered at a single location will be covered automatically. If you’re subscribed to Ring Protect Basic and want your new device covered, you can add another Ring Protect Basic subscription or upgrade to Ring Protect Plus on Ring.com.

    I have a Ring Alarm system. Which Ring Protect Plan is best for me?

    We recommend subscribing to Ring Protect Plus, as it provides Assisted Monitoring for your Ring Alarm system.

    If I have Ring devices at more than one address, will Ring Protect Plus cover them all?

    No. You’ll need to have separate subscriptions to Ring Protect Plus for each address you want to cover.

    Can I use multiple phones or tablets with my Ring devices without a subscription to Ring Protect?

    Yes. All your Ring products can be viewed and monitored via the Ring mobile app on any mobile phone or tablet, and any PC if you log into your Ring account via Ring.com.

    What forms of payment are accepted for Ring Protect?

    Ring accepts Visa, Mastercard and SEPA, through Ring.com. Ring doesn’t accept any payments in the form of cash, check or money order.

    Any payments sent to our mailing address will be returned to you, and you will be instructed to subscribe and pay for Ring Protect online. Payments that are mailed to Ring may cause a lapse in your coverage. If you don’t subscribe and pay for Ring Protect online within your 30-day trial period or prior to the expiration of your existing subscription plan, you may lose your stored video recordings and will not be able to recover them.

    If I’m subscribed to Ring Protect Basic or Plus, how do I redeem my 10% discount?

    The discount only applies to Ring products on Ring.com. You’ll have to be logged into your Ring account at Ring.com in order for your discount to be applied. If you’re a new subscriber, you’ll need to log out of your account and log back in to use your discount immediately after you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus.     What are the terms of the 10% discount?

    Here are the full terms of the discount:

    1. The discount applies to neighbours shopping on ring.com with a Ring Protect Basic or Plus subscription at the time of purchase. It does not apply retroactively, meaning you can’t buy a device and then subscribe to Ring Protect Basic or Plus and retroactively apply the discount.
    2. The discount cannot be combined with other offers, including limited time offers.
    3. The discount is not transferable, may not be resold and has no cash alternative.
    4. It cannot be applied to non-Ring products. It applies to all Ring cameras, doorbells, accessories and multipacks.
    5. You cannot subscribe to Ring Protect Basic or Plus and use the 10% discount in the same transaction.
    6. You must be logged into your account to use the discount at Ring.com during checkout. The discount applies upon the next login session after purchase of Ring Protect Basic or Plus. To use the discount immediately, log out of your account and log back in.

    What devices are eligible for extended warranties under Ring Protect Plus?

    For extended warranty coverage to apply to your Ring device, the device must be within its original limited warranty period when you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus. Once the original limited warranty expires, the device will be covered under Ring Protect Plus until you discontinue your subscription. Non-Ring and other third-party devices are not eligible for the extended warranty. If you are a consumer, the limited and extended warranties are provided in addition to, and without prejudice to, your consumer rights

    How long are videos stored in my Ring account?

    Your videos are stored in your Ring account for up to 180 days if you live in one of the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK.

    You can choose to delete your videos from your account at any time. Deleted videos cannot be recovered.

    2. Your Ring videos are stored in the cloud for an option of up to 180 days (default storage set to 30 days) To keep important videos beyond 180 days, download them to your PC or mobile device. You can delete videos from your Ring account at any time. Once deleted, videos cannot be restored.

    3. Ring takes recurring photo snapshots throughout the day so you can see what is happening between motion-activated events (videos) in your Event History Timeline. These photos are stored in your account for up to 14 days. To keep important photos beyond 14 days, download them to your PC or mobile device.
