If you have an existing wired doorbell system at your front door, then Video Doorbell Wired can be installed and powered using your existing doorbell wiring. We recommend calling a professional electrician for this type of installation.

If you don’t have existing doorbell wiring but you do have an electrical socket near your front door, then you can use Plug-In Adapter to power Video Doorbell Wired. Plug-In Adapter features a long, 6 metre cable that connects to your Video Doorbell Wired and simply plugs into a standard EU indoor electrical socket, for continuous power and peace of mind.
No, not in this case. To make installation simple, Video Doorbell Wired requires you to bypass the existing doorbell chime which means your existing chime will not sound. To continue hearing audio alerts in your home, pair Video Doorbell Wired with an existing Ring Chime, compatible Alexa device, or select the Video Doorbell Wired + Chime bundle.
If you have a subscription to Ring Protect, videos captured by your Video Doorbell will be saved to your Ring account for an option of up to 180 days (default storage set to 30 days), so you can review them at any time.

No. You can still use Video Doorbell to watch over your home and answer the door from anywhere, even without a subscription to Ring Protect. Without Ring Protect, you’ll still receive instant notifications when anyone comes to your door, and you can answer the notification to see, hear and speak to visitors in real time right from your mobile device.
